September Art Exhibit

Valerie Rawlings Art Exhibit — September 2013

I am so excited! I’m having my first solo art exhibit this month at the Lake Travis Community Library in Lakeway.

I selected 27 recent oil paintings (8 shown in the photo above), and this morning Bruce and I went over to the library to get the art exhibit set up. They have this cool system of moveable hangers, wires and clips that makes it really easy to arrange the artwork on the wall. I’ll have some of my favorite portraits, floral paintings, wildlife, landscapes and figurative art on exhibit. It’s a good sized gallery space and the lighting is excellent.

The art exhibit runs from September 1st through the 27th, and the paintings are available for viewing during the normal library hours. On Sunday September 8th from 2:00-3:30 there will be a reception (a party for my paintings!!!) and refreshments will be served. This is a great opportunity for me to exhibit my art, and I’ll be posting more photos; but I would love for you to come see these paintings in person! Please put it on your calendar!

How’s the art exhibit? I enjoyed the web site about your work. Not quite as fun as being at the actual exhibit, but I have a sense of your work and development as an artist from the site. Congratualations!! MaryAlice

    • Thanks, MaryAlice! Things are going splendidly. I haven’t racked up any SALES from the exhibit thus far, except for some note cards. Oh, by the way, did Mom get the note cards I sent? Anyway, the whole process of getting the exhibit together was very interesting. I’m so glad to have done it. Now, I just want to paint and see where it takes me! Hope you are well and you have some time to unleash YOUR creativity!
